Soya Chunks Burjee or Soya granules bhurji is a new experiment in my kitchen. I was bored of the same soya chilly recipe , so thought of trying a new soya recipe. The dish turned out great and it was healthy too. So if you want to try some healthy soya recipes this is a must go.
Ingredients: Prep. Time: 30 Minutes, Serves: 4
15-20 pieces of soya
1 tomato, finely chopped
2 medium sized onions, finely chopped
Paste made out of 4-5 garlic pods
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
Instructions to make soya nugget recipe:
Boil the soya nuggets, drain the water and keep them aside.
Once they dry completely, pull them open into small pieces.
You can also use soya granules. These are faster to cook as you don’t have to shred them into pieces.
Just soak them in warm water and squeeze the water after 30 minutes.
In a kadai or wok, add oil and let it heat for sometime.
After oil gets heated, add onion and fry till the onions turn translucent. Then add tomatoes and fry till they become mushy. Then add the garlic paste and fry till the raw aroma of garlic vanishes.
Now add the spice powers one by one and mix well.
Add the soya chunks (or soya granules) which has been cut into very small pieces.
Add the lemon juice , salt and mix well. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve with chapatis or bread.
