Plum banana smoothie is a healthy breakfast recipe. Whenever in doubt about what to have for breakfast, just make a smoothie with fruits. I have added chia seeds to this banana plum smoothie which makes it a perfect weight loss smoothie recipe too.

This fruit smoothie with banana and plum is a healthy blended beverage which boosts the immune system.

Ingredients that go in making banana and plum smoothie:

  • Fruits:  You any type of fresh, organic, firm ripe bananas and fresh ripe plums in this smoothie recipe.
  • Chia seeds: a small amount of chia seeds is added to make this a healthy weight loss smoothie.
  • Milk: I have added cow milk to this recipe. To make it vegan you may add soy milk or nut milk or rice milk.
  • Sugar: I have added sugar as a sweetener. You may replace sugar with honey or pitted dates. You may also not add any sweetener to this smoothie as the sweetness of fruits would be enough.

Other recipes with chia seeds:

  • Mango sago pudding
  • Grated carrot salad with tomato, onion and chia seeds
  • Overnight chocolate oats

How to make healthy plum and banana smoothie for weight loss?

  • Soak the chia seeds in 2 tablespoons of water. After 30 minutes you will notice that they have a whitish layer on top of them. They are ready for use.
  • Peel and chop the bananas into small pieces.
  •  Cut the plum into small pieces. Discard the plum stone.
  • Add all the ingredients namely, chopped bananas, chopped plum, milk, and sugar in a blender and make smoothie.
  • In a serving glass add the soaked chia seeds and pour the smoothie over the chia seeds.
  • You may add a few ice cubes if needed.

  • Mango lassi
  • Amla juice
  • Strawberry milkshake
  • Dates milkshake
  • Mango orange smoothie

Variations for making this plum smoothie:

  • You may add a little amount of oats to make this a filling breakfast smoothie.
  • Sugar may be skipped or replaced with honey or pitted dates.
  • Cow milk can be replaced by nut milk, rice milk or soy milk to make it a vegan smoothie.
  • Apple may be added while blending bananas and plum.
  • Plum and banana puree are given to babies 6 months onwards. Do not add chia seeds to this while giving it to babies. Just peel and chop the banana and plums, blend to make puree for babies.

Ingredients

  • 2 small bananas
  • 1 plum
  • 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar or honey or pitted date
  • 1 cup milk
