Watermelon Mint Lemonade With A Twist

July 26, 2014 by Raksha Kamat

Today I ventured upon another successful experiment in the kitchen. Though the summer season has ended in India and the rains have started pouring in, the climate is still hot. Thanks to the global warming. I always refrain from using the juices from tetra-packs. I blend fresh juices at home and make sure that my kid drinks healthy juices. I also serve my guests with fresh home-made drinks.

I wanted to make a nice mocktail/smoothie using watermelon as the main ingredient. I also wanted to give it an Indian twist. I thought of mixing watermelon, mint and lemon juice. Gave it a mild spicy flavor by using crushed pepper. The dash of black salt is what most of the Indian’s will love. The sweetness of watermelon, the mild spicy flavor of pepper, the sourness of lime and a dash of black salt makes this smoothie delicious. Serve this smoothie in this Island Hurricane glass for your guests and I am sure you will be flooded with compliments.

I am going for the Indian Food Bloggers meet next week and I am very excited to attend the same. There is a contest announced by UrbanDazzle and this is my second entry for that contest.
