Since I have a sweet tooth, I used to keep eating chocolates after lunch in my office. I would just go to food world and grab a Milky Bar as I love milk chocolates. Nowadays I have replaced all the sweets and chocolates with dates. I keep a handful of dates in my office drawer everyday. Whenever I get sweet cravings, I simply pop dates in my mouth. Oh! I have started falling in love with them. My hubby also encourages me to have dates due to its nutritional value. He always ensures that my date’s packet is never empty.
Apart from being rich in iron content, dates have tannins which are anti-inflammatory, anti-hemorrhagic and anti-infective properties. They have been found to offer some protection from a number of cancers, including cancers of the colon, breast, prostate and lung. Dates can significantly improve our energy levels and I consider them as a healthy snack. Since the time I started eating dates, I stopped eating all sorts of junk food from my office cafeteria. I love to add them to salads or I just have them by adding to milk. I normally have it without adding sugar to the milkshake.
