During this summer, I had lost my appetite. I was not feeling like eating anything. I was only drinking. Drinking lots and lots of cool drinks. I got addicted to some lassi from the nearest juice joint. It was then that my hubby decided to teach me to make lassi. He got some curd, mixed ice cubes and blended everything in blender. He said that was how they used to make lassi in childhood. I tasted it and it was perfect. Neither too thick nor too watery. I kept trying more and more variations of this lassi. I made mango lassi, the recipe of which is mentioned below. I also made rose lassi, the recipe of which will come up soon.
For all who does not know the meaning of lassi, it is a cold drink made with yogurt or buttermilk and flavored with sugar, salt or mild spice.
- 1 Mango – cut into small pieces
- 1/2 liter curd packet
- 3-4 Cardamom(elaichi) pods /1/2 tsp. Cardamom powder
- 5-6 tablespoon sugar
- 5-6 ice cubes
- A pinch of salt
- Peel the cardamom pods and crush the internal seeds.
- Mix all the ingredients in a blender for 5-7 minutes.
- Blend together till the curd appears smooth and well blended with all other ingredients.
- You can adjust sugar according to your taste.
