Mango season is still on and it is right time to relish this favorite fruit of the season. Here is the recipe of mango sheera with step by step pictures. It is also known as mango kesari or mango halwa and is a delicious tea time snack. You can make this sweet mango pudding either for breakfast or evening tea time snacks. Also you can immediately make it when you have some guests. The addition of mango in this sheera will surprise everyone.

In Goa, whenever there are any surprise guests, people quickly cook and serve sheera to guests. Itโ€™s also a favorite Sunday evening tea time snack as on a Sunday evening most of the family members are at home. Some people also make pineapple sheera and banana sheera. The recipes will be up soon.

In Goa, this sweet rava pudding is known as sheero. In South India, it is known as rava kesari or kesari bhaat and in North India, it is known as halwa. Some people add milk to this recipe. I prefer to cook it without milk.

Mango sheera or mango kesari or mango halwa is a sweet mango flavored Indian pudding made with rava or semolina, sugar and mango pulp.

Making this rava mango pudding is very easy. It is made just like traditional rava sheera. Mango is added in the last step. First dry roast rava or semolina. Then add sugar and ghee and mix well. Add hot boiling water and mix. Finally add mango pulp, crushed cardamom pods and crushed cashewnuts and mix well. Serve hot with a cup of tea or coffee.
