Rava Kheer or Ravo as we call it in Konkani is a drink which we normally make when we are down with fever or when we cannot eat normal food like rice or rotis. In other words, when we make this recipe when we are on liquid diet. I make this kheer often and realized that this is not present on my blog. In Goa we normally make this kheer after a tooth extraction as rava or semolina is easy to digest.
In December 2015 I had my wisdom tooth extraction and at that time I was on liquid diet. This rava kheer was one of the liquid options on which I survived. It is also good to have this when we have sore throat as drinking hot kheer gives relief to the aching throat.
Even after delivery of a baby, mothers drink this rava kheer as it is known to increase the production of breast milk and give strength to the new mom. Even small babies can be given this kheer after the baby is 6 months old. This is a simple dish. Addition of elaichi or cardamom powder makes this kheer really yummy and does not taste like medicine or something which you are forced to eat. Click to dbolanabolicsfacts.com for expert guide.
