The addition of cilantro and a touch of jalapeño adds just the right amount of spice, making each bite a refreshing and exciting treat. Best served with crunchy tortilla chips, this strawberry salsa with jalapeno is a must-try for your next gathering!

Homemade strawberry salsa is a fun and refreshing twist on traditional salsa, offering a unique blend of flavours that make it stand out. Here’s a breakdown of the ingredients that go into making this delicious strawberry salsa:

  • Fresh strawberries: Sweet and juicy strawberries are the star of this salsa, adding a burst of flavour and colour.
  • Yellow bell pepper: This mild, slightly sweet pepper adds crunch and a pop of colour to the salsa.
  • Red onion: Finely diced red onion provides a savory kick and balances out the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • Fresh mint leaves: Mint leaves give the salsa a refreshing, herbal note, making it even more vibrant and aromatic.
  • Spices: A touch of jalapeño and black pepper powder can be added to bring a little heat and depth to the flavour profile, enhancing the freshness of the strawberries while adding a mild kick.
  • Fresh cilantro: Cilantro brings a bright, zesty taste that complements the fruity sweetness of the strawberries.
  • Lemon juice: A squeeze of fresh lemon juice adds acidity and enhances the overall freshness of the salsa.

How to make strawberry salsa?

  • Wash, dry and dice the strawberries.
  • Add the diced strawberries, finely chopped onion, finely chopped yellow bell pepper, finely chopped mint leaves, black pepper powder, minced jalapeno, lemon juice, finely chopped cilantro and salt.

Variations to make fresh salsa:

There are lots of fun ways to mix things up with refreshing strawberry salsa! Here are a few variations you can try, depending on your flavour preferences:

Mix Strawberries, mango, pineapple, lime juice, mint, red onion, and a pinch of chili flakes or jalapeño for heat to make delicious Tropical Strawberry Salsa.

You may make strawberry kiwi salsa by mixing Strawberries, kiwi, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, and a small chili pepper for spice. Replace kiwi with mango to make delicious strawberry mango salsa or with pineapple to make strawberry pineapple salsa.

This salsa makes a delicious breakfast topping when added to pancakes or oatmeal, providing a nutritious boost to start your day. We especially love pairing it with oatmeal for a healthy and satisfying breakfast. It’s packed with essential nutrients to fuel your morning.

You can also enjoy this flavourful salsa as a refreshing salad for lunch or serve it as a tasty snack in the evening alongside a strawberry milkshake for a perfect combination.

Health benefits of strawberries

Jalapeno strawberry salsa is healthy as strawberries are rich in Vitamin C and are packed with antioxidants. They promote overall health as they are rich in folate, potassium, manganese, dietary fiber, magnesium and other nutrients.

Consumption of strawberries helps fight cancer, helps make the skin wrinkle free, promotes eye health, regulates blood pressure and fights bad cholesterol. These are few health benefits that I have listed, but there are many more. Hence don’t miss them this season when you can get plenty of strawberries.

Wondering what to eat with strawberry salsa?

Strawberry salsa with cinnamon chips tastes delicious. You may also have it as a tortilla dip. You may pair it with grilled chicken or salmon. You may also make this tasty salsa for tacos or burritos, quesadillas, grilled shrimp or pork, crostini or toast.

Can you freeze strawberry salsa?

Yes! You can freeze this salsa with strawberries. But keep in mind that strawberries will soften once thawed and this will affect the texture and taste of the salsa.
