Grilled pineapple slices are an easy appetizer recipe in which sliced pineapple is marinated with honey, red chili powder, lemon juice, brown sugar and a pinch of salt and grilled in an oven or barbecue grill or in a grill pan. You can also have this it as a side with your meal or as a dessert.

Grilled pineapple slices

The summer is just starting in my part of the world and so is the grilling season. So, prepare this easy grilled pineapple and serve it as a side dish with fried rice or as a dessert. The soft grilled pineapple tastes delicious and melts in mouth. You can even serve it with your sandwich just like fruit sandwich or make small pieces and add it to salsa or make a delicious stir fry.

This grilled pineapple wedges are my favourite grilled recipe and can be made from fresh pineapple or canned pineapple. Pineapple is a fruit which can be cooked in sweet or savory form. The sweet and spicy flavours of the grilled pineapple complement well.

Let us see what all ingredients go in making these grilled pineapple slices or rings:

  • Pineapple: Use fresh ripe pineapple in this grilled fruit recipe.
  • Honey: Honey is added while marinating the pineapple to add sweetish taste.
  • Sugar: I recommend using brown sugar in this grilled pineapple recipe. The pineapple tastes delicious after the sugar caramelizes.
  • Red chili powder: Little bit of red chili powder is added while marinating the pineapple to add mildly spicy taste.
  • Lemon juice: Add little bit of lemon juice to the pineapple while they are getting marinated.

I have cooked these grilled pineapple wedges in Marvello 35 OTG which I had received for a review. The OTG comes in premium black and silver colour and looks classy on the kitchen counter. The design is pleasing and elegant. It is light weight and is easy to move due to the small 4 stands at the base. It has a capacity of 35 litres and has 1600-watt power rating. It comes with many accessories like Baking Tray, Crumb Tray, Wire Rack, Baking Tray Tong, Rotisserie Rod, Rotisserie Forks and Skewer Rods. The skewer rods are very thin and hence you can grill thin paneer tikkas without breaking them. With so many accessories it is great to try cooking new dishes.
