Crispy Air Fryer Baby Corn is a crispy vegetarian appetizer made with fresh baby corn in an air fryer. Baby corn pieces are coated with mildly spicy batter and air fried to perfection. Deep frying baby corn fritters consumes a lot of oil, but when we air fry just 1-2 teaspoon of oil is all that you need.

If someone asks you whether you can cook baby corn in the air fryer then yes mini corn can be fried in air fryer and this fool proof recipe is a must try. This is also known as a baby corn pakoda.

Baby corn fried in an air fryer can be served as a Chinese appetizer or can be served as a side dish with any meal. The recipe turns crispy, crunchy, and delicious just like deep-fried baby corn fritters or shallow fried baby corn.

Ingredients used to make crispy air fryer baby corn:

  • Baby corn: Use fresh and tender baby corn in this recipe.
  • Flour: Corn flour, rice flour and chickpea flour (besan) are the several types of flour used for making the batter to coat the baby corn.
  • Spices: Several types of spices like red chili powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and ginger-garlic paste are used in this healthy baby corn fritters recipe.
  • Oil: Just one teaspoon of oil is used in this recipe. Apart from that ยฝ teaspoon oil is used for brushing the air fryer basket.
  • Coriander leaves: Few coriander leaves are used for garnishing.

How to cook baby corn in air fryer?

  • Slit the baby corn and cut into 1 to 1- and 1/2-inch pieces.
  • Boil the chopped baby corn in water for 5 minutes.
  • Drain the water and add the baby corn to a mixing bowl.
  • Add corn flour, rice flour and besan.
  • Add the spices, ginger-garlic paste, salt and water and mix well.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Ensure that the baby corn is coated with the flour and masala.

Steps to make air fryer baby corn part 1

  • Coat the air fryer basket with oil.
  • Pre-heat the air fryer basket for 5 minutes at 180 C.
  • After pre-heating, open the basket and carefully spread the masala coated baby corn.
  • Close the basket.
  • Air fry for 8 minutes at 200C.
  • After 5 minutes, open the basket and flip the baby corn and continue till done. Enjoy crispy air fried baby corn.

After coating the tender baby corn in batter, air fry for 8 minutes at 200C/392F.

How to store the baby corn after air frying?

You may store air fried baby corn in airtight containers in refrigerator for up to 2 days. Heat in air fryer before consuming again.

  • 10 baby corn
  • 2 tablespoon corn flour
  • 2 tablespoon rice flour
  • 2 tablespoon chickpea flour/besan
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • Few coriander leaves for garnish chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
