Air Fryer Stuffed Mushrooms

Air Fryer Stuffed Mushrooms are mushrooms stuffed with cheesy and delicious stuffing and then cooked to perfection in an air fryer. This quick stuffed mushroom in air fryer recipe gets ready in less than 20 minutes and is a perfect party appetizer.

Stuffed with a stuffing made of onion, tomato, garlic, cheddar cheese and seasoning, this quick low carb mushrooms in the air fryer can be served for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients for cooking mushrooms stuffed with cheese in air fryer:

Mushroom: I have used white button mushrooms in this recipe. You may use large portobello mushroom or cremini mushrooms in this recipe.

For making the filling or stuffing:

I have used onion, tomato, green chili, garlic, spice powders and seasonings lie black pepper powder, garlic powder and Italian seasoning, sauces like tomato sauce, green chili sauce, butter and grated cheddar cheese to stuff in the mushrooms before air frying.

Variations:

You may also add prawns, chicken, crab meat or bacon in the filling.

You may also try making air fryer breaded mushroom by coating the mushroom in breadcrumbs after stuffing them.

How to cook stuffed mushrooms in air fryer?

  1. Wash the mushrooms gently. Separate the stems from the mushroom caps. Finely chop the mushroom stems.
  2. Heat a pan and add oil.
  3. After oil gets heated, add finely chopped onion and fry till it turns pinkish.
  4. Add chopped garlic and fry till raw smell of garlic goes away.

  1. Now add chopped tomatoes and fry till they turn mushy.
  2. Add the mushroom stems, close the pan and cook for 8 minutes.
  3. After 8 minutes, stir and add the sauces and cook for 5 minutes. Switch off the gas.
  4. Add the pizza seasoning, black pepper powder and garlic powder and mix well.
  5. Remove the stuffing from the pan and add it to a bowl.
  6. Add grated cheddar cheese to the stuffing and mix nicely.

  1. Apply butter to the mushroom caps on both sides.
  2. Take little bit of stuffing and nicely stuff the mushroom cap with it.
  3. Now let us prepare the air fryer basket:
  4. Apply little butter to the air fryer basket.
  5. One by one placed the stuffed mushroom caps inside the air fryer basket.
  6. Add some cheese on top of the stuffed mushrooms.
  7. Place the air fryer basket inside the air fryer and close it.
  8. Air fry for 8 minutes at 180C.
  9. After the timer beeps, open the air fryer basket.
  10. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.

How long to cook stuffed mushrooms in air fryer?

After the mushrooms are stuffed with the prepared stuffing, air fry for 8 minutes at 180C. You might have to alter the time depending on the type of your air fryer.

What type of mushrooms should be used?

Use any variety of mushrooms preferably large mushrooms like portobello which are easier to stuff. I have used white mushrooms in this recipe, but I prefer portobello mushrooms for making large stuffed mushrooms in air fryer.

How to store leftovers?

Any leftover stuffed mushrooms made in air fryer may be stored for up to 2-3 days in an airtight container and refrigerated.

How to reheat?

To reheat, simply place them in the air fryer and air fry for 3-4 minutes at 180C.

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Button Mushroom
  • 1 Small onion Finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato Finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chili Finely Chopped
  • 8 Garlic Pods Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Green Chili Sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 6 tablespoon Cheddar Cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon Pizza/Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 4 tablespoon Coriander Leaves Finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon oil To Taste Salt
