“Stir fried green beans is a simple and delicious Chinese stir fry made with green beans, onion, ginger and garlic. Soy sauce and black pepper powder makes the recipe spicy and delicious.”

Currently with the lockdown due to COVID, many people are requesting me to come up with recipes with ingredients which can be easily found in any home. I had this Chinese green bean stir fry in a restaurant and loved it. I thought of re-creating this restaurant style stir fried green beans to satisfy my familyโ€™s Chinese food cravings.

Stir Fried Green Beans

This stir-fried green bean can be served with Hakka noodles with egg or tofu fried rice.

Let us see the ingredients used to make easy stir-fried green beans

  1. Green beans: Use fresh crispy French beans to make this recipe.
  2. Onion: I have used red onion in this recipe. You can use white onion if you have it handy.
  3. Ginger: Wash ginger nicely and peel it. Cut into thin sticks and use it in the recipe.
  4. Garlic: Use 4 to 5 garlic pods. Cut garlic into thin sticks.
  5. Black pepper powder: Black pepper powder is added to make the recipe spicy. You can adjust this in the recipe. If you like more spice, be generous with the spice powder.
  6. Soy sauce: I have used dark soy sauce to enhance the flavour of this stir fry. I have added sugar in soy sauce and added to the recipe.
  7. Cooking oil: You can use any type of cooking oil in this recipe. I would prefer canola oil.

How to make French beans stir fry?

  1. Take a saucepan or deep bottomed utensil and add 4 cups water. Let water boil. Blanch the green beans for 4 minutes. Then discard the water and keep the green beans aside.
  2. Take a small bowl and mix soy sauce and sugar.
  3. Heat a wok / non-stick frying pan and oil.
  4. Let oil get heated. Add chopped green beans, julienne onions, ginger, garlic and mix well. Leave it in frying pan for 1 minute.
  5. Stir again and then add soy sauce and sugar mixture. Mix well.
  6. Keep stirring continuously so that the green beans donโ€™t burn for 2 minutes.
  7. Add black pepper powder and mix well.
  8. Add salt to taste and mix again.
  9. Serve hot.
