Pudina Pulao Recipe And TTK Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker – A Product Review

Todayโ€™s recipe is mint rice or pudina pulao which I made using my Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker. Yes you heard it right! Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker โ€“ the first Microwave Pressure Cooker in India. Whenever we speak about pressure cookers, Prestige is the brand which first comes to our mind.

Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker

Prestige Microwave Pressure cooker is yet another innovative offering from TTK Prestige Limited. It has been designed after extensive consumer research. It is the most innovative kitchen appliance ever and has incorporated several innovations which will make the cooking experience safer and much more enjoyable. This product is worldโ€™s first CE marked microwave pressure cooker complying with the toughest safety standards.

TTK Prestige Limited is the pioneer and leader in the category of pressure cookers and pressure handis in India. Prestige has the largest range of pressure cookers, pressure handis, cookware and kitchen appliances like gas stoves, mixer grinders, food processors, rice cookers, barbecues, electric irons, etc.

With Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker, you can put your microwave to good use and also preserve nutrients that are otherwise lost using an open vessel in the microwave oven. It is made of very high quality plastic and offers various safety options like, gasket offset device, safety plug, anti-clogging mesh and a visual pressure indicator.

Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker

Microwave pressure cooker combines traditional pressure cooking methods with efficient microwave cooking, ensuring even heat distribution, improved food colour retention and faster cooking times.

I received a red coloured Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker Model number PMPC 3.0 of capacity 2.5 litre for review from TTK India. The body of the cooker is made of highest quality food grade plastic.ย  This microwave pressure cooker comes with a 1 year warranty and costs Rs.995/- You can also get this cooker in other sizes like 2.2 litres and 4 litres.

Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker

What I liked the most about the Prestige Microwave Pressure cooker is that it cooks the food within very less time. It is ideal for working people like me who pack lunch boxes every morning for the family before heading to work. I also liked the fact that the entire cooking process is mess free unlike traditional pressure cooking where the water from cooker spills out and creates mess on the kitchen counter. Also this microwave pressure cooker is safer to use compared to the traditional ones. This microwave pressure cooker unlike traditional ones does not whistle to release the pressure. But they release steam using their own safety features. Oh Yes! The same cooker can be used to serve food as it looks classy and stylish.

Some doโ€™s and donโ€™ts:

  • Microwave pressure cooker is intended for use in microwave only. The capacity of microwave should be 20 liters or higher. This cooker cannot be placed in other types of ovens like OTGs or convection oven.
  • Use only the microwave option when using this pressure cooker. Do not use convection or grill mode. This product cannot be used on gas stoves and induction.
  • Cannot pressure cook dumplings.
  • For quick cooking, cut the meat and vegetables into smaller parts.
  • Food items like apples, cranberries, pearl barley, oatmeal and other cereals, noodles, macaronies, spaghetti or split peas tend to foam, froth and sputter. These may clog the safety devices.
  • Potatoes, vegetables, apple and eggs have to be pricked to prevent them from bursting due to buildup of steam inside the pressure cooker.
  • The microwave pressure cooker gets warm due to transfer of heat from cooked food. Always wear gloves/mittens when the cooker is hot or when the cooker is taken out after cooking.
  • Never force open the pressure cooker. The internal pressure should completely drop before opening the cooker.
  • The cooker should not be opened inside a microwave.

Pudina Rice In Microwave

Value for money

Unlike the ordinary pressure cookers where the food cooks only after the water begins to boil, microwave pressure cooker starts cooking your food the moment it is turned on. It not only saves you time but also ensures that your food preserves all the nutrients for you. Now I can make rice or dal at almost half the time than a traditional pressure cooker on a gas.

Safety Feature

Traditional pressure cookers are not safe and if not used properly can blast and create mess in the kitchen. But the Prestige Microwave Pressure Cooker comes with a safety mechanism which does not allow you to open the pressure cooker until its build up pressure has gotten released naturally. Also there would not be buildup of pressure inside the cooker, if the lock isnโ€™t activated.

Easy to clean

After cooking with this microwave pressure cooker, you should clean the cooker immediately with warm soapy water to avoid stains on the plastic. Do not use steel wool to clean the microwave pressure cooker.

Storage

This microwave pressure cooker looks like a casserole and occupies very less space in kitchen.

How to use the Prestige Microwave Pressure cooker?ย

It is very simply to use this product. Just twist, load and microwave.

  • Just twist along the indicators to unlock the Microwave Pressure Cooker
  • Place the food ingredients evenly
  • Microwave the food
  • Delicious food is ready
