Godanche Fov ( Beaten Rice With Jaggery ) is a sweet dish that we Goans normally make for Diwali. It is also known as gud poha in North India. Sometimes we make this for breakfast or evening snacks too. It is a healthy snack and needs no cooking at all. It gets ready in few minutes and is perfect when you feel like eating something instantly.

Godanche Fov

In Goa we make different types of fov or poha on Diwali. They are rosanche fov (poha in coconut milk), dhaiyanche fov (curd poha), doodanche fov (milk poha), bataat fov (potato poha) and many more. Todayโ€™s version of poha is a simpler one and is a must try. You can even make this for kids and pack it in their snack box for a change.

Godanche Fov

Recipe to make beaten rice with jaggery or godanche fov is very simple.ย Just soak beaten rice in water, then add grated jaggery, grated coconut, crushed cardamom and bit of salt and mix well.
