Fruit Custard recipe with custard powder is an easy dessert recipe which can be prepared at home. This custard dessert is also known as fruit salad with custard. Fruits like mango, chickoo, apple, banana, papaya and pomegranate can be added. I have given a twist to the fruit custard by adding yummy BeeTeeโ€™s melt in mouth chocolate.

Fruit Custard With chocolate

BeeTeeโ€™s Melt chocolate:

BeeTeeโ€™s Melt chocolate is a vegan chocolate brand from Chennai, India. Apart from being vegan, they are also soy free and gluten-free. They donโ€™t separate cacao butter from beans while making the chocolates and hence the chocolates just melt in mouth. They are a bean to bar chocolate manufacturer. The chocolates are 100% preservative free, refined sugar free and are 100% vegetarian.

The Chocolates from BeeTeeโ€™s Melt come in 3 varieties namely:

  1. 54% Coconut Milk Chocolate
  2. 48% Milk Chocolate
  3. 72% Dark Chocolate

Each of the chocolate bar has a rich, beautiful and delightful taste which is irresistible. I have used the BeeTeeโ€™s Coconut Milk Chocolate in todayโ€™s recipe as I loved it. The kid loved the Milk chocolate. Dark chocolates are my husbandโ€™s personal favorite and he just loved it. Despite having 72% cacao, this dark chocolate was not over the top bitter or chalky. It was just sweet and bitter.

Apart from simply eating it whenever you feel like, feel free to add chocolates to recipe just like how I did today. Each of the chocolates come in bars of 55 grams in weight and costs Rs. 280 each. You can purchase them from BeeTeeโ€™s Melt Chocolate website.

What is fruit custard?

Fruit custard is an Indian dessert made by mixing fresh fruits, dry fruits, jelly or chocolates in delicious custard sauce. This can be made at any time of the year and needs no special occasion. You can serve it chilled or cool or at room temperature. However, it tastes best when served chilled.

How to select fruits to make custard with fruits?

Use any type of seasonal fruits like apples, banana, mangoes, chickoo, grapes or papaya. Some people donโ€™t add grapes to this easy Indian dessert.

Also try other dessert recipes like:

  • Eggless Marie biscuit pudding
  • Jelly custard shots
  • Chocolate Creme Caramel

What are the ingredients used in making fruit custard with chocolate?

  • Custard powder: Use vanilla flavored custard powder of any brand to make this easy Indian dessert.
  • Sugar: Sugar adds sweetness to this custard recipe. Sugar free alternatives can be used if needed. Also, sugar quantity can be altered as per taste.
  • Milk: I have used cow milk in this recipe. You can use vegan milk too; however, I have not tried the same.
  • Fruits: Fresh seasonal fruits like apple, banana, mango, chickoo, papaya, pomegranate, etc. can be added. Avoid adding orange, sweet lime or pineapple.
  • Chocolate: Few pieces of BeeTeeโ€™s Melt chocolate.

Some notes to keep in mind while making custard with fruits:

  • Fruits should be added to custard only before serving, else water from fruits will make the custard runny.
  • Always use warm milk to dissolve custard powder else lumps will be formed while mixing milk and custard powder.
  • Sugar quantity can be altered as per taste.
  • Other fruits like mango, grapes, chickoo and papaya can be added.
  • Dry fruits, tutti fruity and jelly pieces can also be added.
