Hyderabads Paradise Comes To Bengaluru – A Restaurant Review

On the busy junction at 100 ft road and CMH road Indiranagar, Bangalore, just diagonally opposite to KFC and Pizza Hut, has opened a brand new restaurant – Paradise. Yes, the legendary biryani brand from Hyderabad has opened it’s first outlet in Bangalore. If you had visited Hyderabad, I am sure you would have visited Paradise atleast once. It is one of the most enduring brands in Hyderabad which serves the world famous biryani.
Biryani is the USP of Paradise and I as a foodie swear by the taste of this authentic Hyderabadi Biryani. Last Sunday, I visited this place and was impressed by the crowd. I had never seen any restaurant as crowded as this. There were people standing outside awaiting their turn. Every person was busy eating their food. The place remains equally crowded on weekdays and weekends. Families visit on weekends and techies visit on weekdays.
Crowd At Paradise
Paradise has a 60 year old history and is undoubtedly every Hyderabadiโ€™s favourite restaurant. Mr. Ali Hemmati, Chairman & Managing Director of Paradise is confident that this restaurant will achieve the same iconic status in Bengaluru as they will serve the legendary and authentic Hyderabadi cuisine to the discerning food lovers of this city. In addition to the world famous Biryanis, Paradise also serves delectable Chinese, Indian and Continental cuisine. You can try some rotis and curries too.
Special Supreme Biryani Which Serves For 4-5 Guests
It is easy to find this place from any part in Bangalore as it is located in Indiranagar. The location is excellent. Though there is no parking for vehicles, they do offer valet parking. Currently it offers over 75 dishes at very reasonable prices. You can either choose to eat at the restaurant or you can choose to carry a take-away parcel as they have a take-away counter too.
Ambiance:
The ambiance was great. The walls had huge pictures of how biryani was being made in huge containers.
Those jars filled with spices gave the place a nice rustic look which suited the biryani theme. I loved the huge spatulas which are used to make biryani in huge containers.
Service:
Customer service is their motto and they believe that customer is God. Yes, when I went to the restaurant, I was impressed by the service. It was quick and the staff was polite and did not make us wait too long to get the dishes after ordering them.
The Food:
We tasted a number of dishes at the restaurant. To start with, we ordered fresh lime juice to quench our thirst.
Fresh Lime Juice
Followed by this we ordered starters both veg and non-veg. In the veg we ordered Bharwan Tandoori Aloo and Paneer tikka. The Bharwan Aloo was really unique and simply out of the world taste. Paneer tikka was simple with not so out of the world to taste.
Bharwan Tandoori Aloo – Stuffed potatoes marinated in yogurt and masala and cooked in tandoor
Paneer Tikka – Succulent pieces of paneer marinated in yogurt and spices and grilled in the tandoor

The non-veg platter that we ordered had garlic chicken kebab, mutton kebab and fish tikka. I loved all the kebabs, as they were well marinated and the marinade could be felt in every bite. I did not feel like as if I was biting through bland meat. I normally don’t eat mutton, but I liked the mutton kabab. It was not hard like the mutton that we get in other hotels around. The fish tikka was also perfect and left me wanting some more.

Garlic Chicken Kebab, Fish Tikka and Mutton Kebab
For the main course we ordered veg, chicken and mutton biryani’s. I loved the chicken biryani and it was simply out of the world. Clearly it was the star of the day. It had the authentic Hyderabadi taste. Biryanis at different places are prepared in different ways. As a foodie I know the taste of Hyderabadi biryani and the taste of biryani served at Paradise was authentic Hyderabadi. Aroma and taste was out of the world. The biryani prepared at different places is different. Even the Andhra Biryani is different from Hyderabadi biryani.
Chicken Biryani
The flavour, taste and aroma of Paradise Biryani is controlled by the centralized kitchen where seasoned chefs prepare the Biryani and other dishes in the same traditional and authentic style that has become legendary from the days of the Nizams. The recipe has been passed down from generations and the Paradise team ensures that every single ingredient used is of the finest quality.
Mutton Biryani
The taste of biryani at the Bangalore outlet was similar as that in Hyderabad. The chicken was tender and soft and was properly marinated. I did not have to struggle to pull the chicken meat from the bone as it was very tender and well cooked. The long grains of basmati rice did not stick to each other too. The hand pounded spices were cooked in a traditional coal based dum process that seals in all the flavor. One portion of biryani serves 2 people.
Chicken Biryani with Mirch Ka Salan and Raita
The distinct aroma and taste is retained due to magic of their chefs. Most of them have been with them since a very long time, maybe since decades. I felt that they could have garnished the biryani with fried onion, but then they do follow their style and maybe this is their unique style. The biryani was served with Hyderabadi Mirch Ka Salan and curd raita. The raita could have been slightly thick, but the mirch ka salan was just awesome. Mildly spiced and went too good with my biryani.
For desserts we had Qubani Ka Meetha and Double Ka Meetha. Both the desserts were heavenly.
Quabani Ka Meetha – Authentic Hyderabadi sweet with stewed apricots and topped with vanilla ice-cream
Double Ka Meetha – Bread pudding dessert with hint of saffron and cardamon
I am sure that Paradise will become synonymous with the city just like Hyderabad and no visit to Bangalore will be complete without tasting the impeccable flavour rich Hyderabadi Biryani from Paradise. They have plans to open several outlets at several locations in Bangalore and I wish them good luck. As Dr. Kazim Hemmati says, โ€œThe Paradise brand will always stand for Good Food, Great Service and Happy Times.โ€ I too feel the same.
