153 Biere Street – A Review

Last week me along with a few more blogger friends were invited to 153 Biere Street to experience the unique food and ambiance. Despite of having slightly ill health I thought of going to this place. As soon as I reached there I was impressed by the ambiance. It is like the quaint European town roadside cafe with the cobbled streets. I could re-create my moments spent in UK.

153, Biere Street, a one-of-its kind destination was launched in the city recently. Located in the plush surroundings of Whitefield, the latest addition to the cityโ€™s food and entertainment scene offers a lovely new take on the concept of getting together and celebration, placing the spirit of community engagement at the forefront.
With a highly differentiated offering that suits people of all age groups, high service excellence standards and an unforgettable ambience, 153ย Biere Street is set to deliver an unparalleled experience of social recreation where there is something in it for everyone!

We started with a tour of the place. First we saw the retail outlets-

– Tailorman: It offers bespoke menswear with personification as desired by the client. It comes with a promise of custom luxury menswear at affordable pricing and a choice of the finest fabrics from across the world
– Ohana Flowers: Ohana is one of Bangaloreโ€™s most popular boutiques specialising in elegant arrangements and delivery of exotic and enduring flowers for weddings, homes, parties and corporate needs
– Do-Something: It is a crafts store that sells ceramics, jewellery and many more fun and funky art and dรฉcor trinkets. It also works on an interactive model by hosting several workshops for kids and art and dรฉcor lovers
– The Design Edition: It is a young and upcoming Interior and home decor store
Then we saw the The Patio โ€“ A little terrace for small private parties or simply an afternoon tea! I really liked this place and when I saw these little children play I too felt like going back to my childhood ๐Ÿ™‚

The Micro brewery,The Mario Miranda Styled Painting and the Long Bar Menu
Soon after that we went to 153 Biere Club. It has a micro brewery which will start soon after they get a licence,a bar and kitchen. What caught to my attention was the Mario Miranda styled paintings on the walls. We sat and had some drinks and some nibbles. The guys tried some beers. I enjoyed my Mock Biere. It is a non-alcoholic drink which looked like beer but it was made of apple juice, pineapple juice and soda served in a big beer glass. Atleast at some point in my life I got to pose with a beer glass ๐Ÿ˜‰ The drink was really good.

The food served there was really good. We tried the chicken pizza, shrimp and lobster pop corn, beer batter onion rings served with thousand island sauce, the crispy jalapeno canape, garlic potato wedges and crispy finger chips served along with thousand island sauce, spiced Moroccan grilled chicken and veggies served with a lemon wedges and pita breads. Loved the thin crust chicken pizza which was topped with sour cream and basil.
Shrimp And Lobster Popcorn

The shrimp and lobster popcorn was something that I had for the first time. It was heavenly and something which I loved. They way it was served was great. Even the Sea Bassย fish fried in beer batter served with tartar sauce and finger chips served in paper cones was appealing and yummy.ย

After this we went ahead to mustard & cress – A Californian style organic cafe.
I could not turn my attention off a furnace in which they make pizza. It was just too good and I saw how the pizza got baked in the furnace. The pizza that we had here was thin ,crunchy and unique. I really loved the chicken pizza.

Later we went inside the special place meant for dining. The lighting was perfect for the ambiance but I loved the chandelier which was just above our table. It really made me feel a bit special for the moment. The mustard plants and cress(salsa) was kept on table. They have their own small organic garden and they use the things grown there in their food. They cook food with everything organic except meat. Even the water was organic ๐Ÿ™‚

Soon we got settled there, the starters were served first. Pesto marinated fish and Asian grilled veges were served first. The fish was extremely good. It had a very good taste. I mostly don’t eat fish outside, but I loved the fish there.ย After that I tried grilled saffron chicken with arugula and mint salad which was perfect to taste.

I also tried some veg dishes like watermelon capraccio which was something I never had before. It was unique and taste wise was heavenly.

The crab soup was extremely yummy. It had a sweetish spicy tangy craby taste. I was really having a great time there trying dishes which were unique and great tasting.

After some time, I realised that I was getting late. It was already 10.00 PM past on my watch. My hubby and kid were alone at home. My kid does’nt sleep without me. So I did not wait for the main course though I wished I could make my clock tick slower and could enjoy the evening.

While on the way home, I thought of visiting the bakery named Everything Stops for T: A Victorian style Bake House. I liked the various baked items there. The macaroons, some biscuits, cakes, pastries, chocolate tarts and much more. Everything looked great. Tasted a few and liked the oats bar. The strawberry cake was baked perfectly well.

I also visited the Central Area with market stalls. These were closed at it got too late.

A theatre/performance area is also present there where mostly stand up comedy shows or matches are shown.
This is a unique place with various attractions at 153ย Biere Street, all under one roof. Right from ambiance, bar, food, service, baked items everything was great.
I would surely recommend this place to everyone. Do visit this place atleast once when you are in Bangalore to have a unique European type of experience.
