Apply the spicy paste to the onion slices and keep aside for 10 minutes.
Take a plate and mix the ingredients meant for coating .
Heat a frying pan and spread oil. Keep the heat to low.
Coat the spicy onion slices with semolina
Place them on the frying pan.
Spread little oil on the onion slices and close the lid.
After 10 minutes, flip them to other side and fry for 10 more minutes.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoon water while frying the semolina coated onion slices and close the lid. In this way you can use less oil while shallow frying.
Let the onion slices get shallow fried for 5 more minutes and then switch off the heat/gas.
Keep the lid of frying pan closed till you serve the onion starter. In this way the the onion slices will continue to get cooked even after the heat is turned off.
