4 Tips To Decorate Your Studio Apartment

Studio apartments are distinct for their compact structure and size. Decorating your studio apartment can be done in a few easy steps if you know where to start. Take a look at the benefits of a U-shaped kitchen or look up special bedroom wardrobe designs to convert your small space into a welcome treat after a long day at work.

Read on for a few tips to remember to keep your studio apartment comfortable, cosy and organised:

1. Say No to Clutter

Smaller spaces can look messy very easily. In order to further your efforts against clutter, donate or recycle anything that you donโ€™t need. Only keep items that have any sentimental value or something that you use regularly. Fewer pieces of furniture are ideal to make your apartment look more spacious.

There are several innovatively designed pieces of furniture that can be used for multiple purposes. For instance, a sofa can also be a pull-out bed for guests, a coffee table can have a space for storage and a bookshelf can double as a room divider. For instance, choose a sofa bed instead of a couch. This way you have space for guests who decide to sleep over. Restrict accessories to a bare minimum and opt for floating shelves instead of floor shelves. Minimalist interiors appear more open and spacious.

2. Limit Your Colour Palette

Using too many colours for a small space can give it a crowded look. Stick to a neutral colour palette and choose a couple of shades to decorate your studio apartment. For example, go with a combination of pastels to invite more light into your space. This automatically increases the sense of space in a room. If you want to add a quirky touch you could make your furniture brightly coloured โ€“ add a bright red couch or accent chairs that draw the eye.

3. A Flow of Space

Fewer doors and walls make more room for you and your furniture. If you want to cordon off a private space, perhaps the bed or dressing area, you can use a lovely bookshelf or display unit to act as a divider. This can also double as a crockery unit if you want to partition the dining and the living area or the kitchen and the rest of the home. Pull down screens are a great choice and can double up as projector screens too.Folding screens can be used whenever required and put away the rest of the time.

4. A Signature Piece

A small space is no reason to avoid going all out on your interior decor. You can still add that one statement piece that dominates your space. A unique lamp or a vintage armchair set out a piece that reflects your personality. You could even do away with the conventional sofa and have a daybed for a European influence.

Thereโ€™s a lot that can be done in terms of bedroom interiors, but now that you have transformed your abode into a comfortable yet elegant space, curl up with a book and a hot cuppa for some much deserved rest!
