Goan Surmai Fish Curry (Seer Fish Curry) & A Review of TTK Racer Mixer Grinder

Mixer grinder is one of the most essential product that we need in our kitchens. Indian cuisine is made up of lots of chutneys, curries and ground masalas. We use a mixer grinder almost every single day. In today’s post I will be sharing a review of TTK Racer Mixer Grinder and a delicious Goan Seer Fish Curry recipe.

I used this jar for wet grinding the gravy for fish curry. The gravy turned smooth and all the ingredients blended well.

Areas of Improvement:

  • The grooves at the bottom should have better vacuum.
  • Also I wish the Racer Mixer Grinder was available in some other colors giving us more options to choose from.

Instructions
Marinate the fish:
  1. Wash the fish and keep aside.
  2. In a small bowl mix the turmeric powder, chili powder and salt. If required add 2 tablespoon water and make a thick paste.
  3. Apply this to the seer fish and leave it aside for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  4. If you want to marinate for longer time, then keep the marinated fish in refrigerator.
Make the gravy:
  1. Take the mixer with lid for wet grinding. Add grated coconut, turmeric powder, tamarind, peppercorns, coriander and red chilies. Grind by adding ½ cup water to make a semi-thin gravy.
Make seer fish curry:
  1. Take a kadai and add oil and fry the onions till they turn pinkish.
  2. Pour the gravy and stir. Add water ¼ to 1/2 cup.
  3. Add the fish and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes.
Recipe Notes

The gravy should neither be too thick nor too thin.
